CHARLOTTE – Mecklenburg County families interested in placing children in a pre-kindergarten program may come to one of the following information sessions to learn about Charlotte-Mecklenburg N.C. Pre-K, a child-centered, literacy-based program.

The program is open to children in Mecklenburg County who will be 4 years old by Aug. 31. Participants will learn about program locations and requirements and receive an overview of daily operations including curriculum, meals and transportation.

Sessions are held:

• Thursday, Feb. 8, at 6 p.m. at Independence Regional Library, 600 Conference Drive.

• Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. at University City United Methodist Church, 3835 West WT Harris Blvd.

• Feb. 21 at 5:30 p.m. at West Boulevard Library, 2157 West Blvd.

• Feb. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at Steel Creek Library, 13620 Steele Creek Road.

• March 6 at 5:30 p.m. at ImaginOn, 300 E. Seventh St.
