Hilda Mae Hufford Harkins

DAVIDSON – Funeral services for Hilda Mae Hufford Harkins, 80, will be held at a later date.

She died Dec. 18, 2012 at her home.

Harkins was born April 6, 1932, in Epharta, Pa., to the late Edward and Hilda Hufford. She owned a boutique.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas Harkins III and David Harkins, both of Huntersville; daughter, Susan Curry and husband, David, of Raleigh; siblings, Ron, Helen and Dick; and four grandchildren.

Annirene W. Caune

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Annirene W. Caune were held Dec. 21 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Spartanburg.

She died Dec. 17, 2012 at the Huntersville Oaks.

Caune was born Feb. 23, 1931, in Halifax, Va., to the late William and Isabella Whitt. She was a Realtor at Allen Tate-SouthPark for 16 years.

Caune was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Childers.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Sherrill and husband, Jack, of Raleigh; and granddaughter, Leslie Sherrill.

Dan Montgomery

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Dan Montgomery, 55, will be held at a later date.

He died Dec. 16, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital-Huntersville.

Montgomery was born Sept. 9, 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late William and Gladys Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife, Caren Montgomery of Huntersville; daughter, Sarah Montgomery of Tucson, Ariz.; stepdaughters, Amanda Wilburn of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Sarah Andrews of Appleton, Wis.; grandchildren, Asa and Kaleb; and sister, Ellen O’Keefe of Denver, Colo.

Dawn Marie Werhan

DAVIDSON – A memorial service for Dawn Marie Werhan will be held at a later date.

She died Dec. 13, 2012 at her home, surrounded by family after a long battle with brain cancer.

Werhan was born in Schenectady, N.Y., to Floyd and Betty Lent.

She worked as a teacher and later as an administrative professional.

She is survived by her husband, Gerry Werhan; daughter, Paige O’Connell Werhan; brothers, Drew Lent and Emmanuel Vaughn and Kurt Lent and June Blackwelder; mother-in-law, Irene Werhan; and brother-in-law, Edward Werhan.

Werhan received treatment from The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Medical Center and Hospice of Davidson.

John Ruth Hart Wolfe

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral arrangements for Joan Ruth Hart Wolfe, 89, are incomplete.

She died Dec. 13, 2012 at the Huntersville Oaks.

Born Aug. 30, 1923, in Cochranton, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Joseph Hart and Anna Power Hart.

Cecil Arden Wyatt Jr.

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Cecil Arden Wyatt Jr., were held Dec. 14 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.

He died Dec. 8, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital-Huntersville.

Wyatt was born May 4, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Cecil G. Wyatt Sr. and Nellie H. Wyatt.

He graduated from City of New York’s School of Industrial Art in 1944 and began serving as a full-time pioneer and preacher for Jehovah’s Witnesses. He later obtained a full-time job as a commercial artist with Eveready Label Corporation.

Wyatt was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Walker; and brother, Walter Wyatt.

He is survived by sons, David and Paul of Brooklyn, N.Y. and John of Charlotte; grandsons, Christopher and Justin; and daughters-in-law, Stella, Penelope and Gennie.

Thy Trang Vu-Oliver

CORNELIUS – Funeral services for Thy Trang Vu-Oliver, 32, were held Dec. 8 at St. Therese Catholic Church.

She died peacefully Dec. 5, 2012 with family and friends by her side.

Vu-Oliver is survived by her husband, Benjamin Donaldson Oliver; sons, Colyn Patrick Oliver, 8, and Masyn James Oliver, 1; father, Bau Ngoc Vu; mother, Hong Thi Le Duong; sister, Hang Trang Vu; and brothers, John Viet Vu and Andy Binh Vu.
