CONCORD – Students at Cannon School donated more than 900 new gifts to underprivileged kids through the school’s annual Project Wrap-In community service project.

Younger students paired up with older students Dec. 5 to wrap the donated items inside classrooms.

Gifts will go to children in the Lake Norman and Concord areas, as well as Romania. Representatives from the Ada Jenkins Center, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Salvation Army, Church of God Children’s Home and Angels in Need received the gifts during an all-school assembly.

Project Wrap-In began five years ago as a small community service project envisioned by 2008 alumna Bethany Corbin and has grown into an annual Cannon School event.

Lake Norman area students Jake Flynn, from Davidson; Carolyn Hynes, from Cornelius; Dana Norton, from Davidson; Brooke Wurzburger, from Davidson; and Upper School Service Learning Coordinator Haley Todd helped coordinate this year’s event.
