DAVIDSON – During December, Duke Energy’s contractor, Asplundh Tree Expert Co. will be doing tree pruning work in Davidson.

Pruning and trimming will occur in the downtown area of Davidson, between I-77 and North Main Street, Ridge Road, Jetton Street, Griffith Street, Watson Street and Armour Street.

Work is anticipated to begin the week of Dec. 10 and conclude by the end of the year.

Duke Energy will follow their standard notification policy by leaving door hangers with affected customers in advance of their work.

Customers are encouraged to call Asplundh foreman Keith Hondlik at 704-652-2004 with any questions or concerns.

These door hangers will explain the pruning process, how trees will be marked, and the certified arborist method they will follow.

“We’re doing our best to strike a balance between electric service reliability for citizens and the aesthetics and preferences of our customers,” said Tim Gause, Region Director for Duke Energy Carolinas.

“We know how much our citizens care about our tree canopy, so our staff has been in discussion with Duke Energy throughout this process,” said Mayor John Woods.
