DAVIDSON – The Town of Davidson announced the hiring of Jason Burdette in the Planning Department and Patrick Poitras in the Public Works Department.
Burdette is filling the town planner role vacated by Ben McCrary who was promoted to planning manager.
Poitras’s position is a newly created role approved by the town board in the FY 2013 budget, to enhance economic development efforts in Davidson.
Burdette has a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Burdette is a town planner with private and public sector experience in planning, most recently in a role with the City of Charlotte.
In his role, he’ll work with developers, and will take the lead this week on the Delburg Street Infill Master Plan public information session.
Poitras works part-time, five mornings a week with his main focus on maintaining the downtown area. He works in the area from town hall down to Depot Street, including Main Street and Knox Court.
