Officials with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools say Hopewell High School went on lockdown after a break-in at a nearby home.
The Huntersville Police Department asked the school to go on lockdown from about 9:50-11:45 a.m. Nov. 5. because of "crime activity in the area," said a CMS spokesperson.
A spokesperson with the Huntersville Police Department said the break-in occurred in the nearby Latta Springs neighborhood.
The school resumed its normal schedule after the lockdown was lifted.
