Dr. Cynthia Lewis, Davidson English professor, along with Mary Holt and Sara Freeman, Davidson seniors and debutantes, spoke on Charlotte Talks on WFAE radio station on Nov. 26 about the debutante society.

The show explored β€œthe debutante balls where young women of the upper crust make their debut as legitimate members of grown-up society. The practice dates back to earlier times and – despite the changes wrought by modern times – continues,” according to wfae.org.
