Michael Joseph Williamson

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Michael Joseph Williamson, 70, were held Nov. 20 at Lake Norman Baptist Church. He died Nov. 18, 2012, at Levine & Dickinson Hospice House.

Williamson was born Jan. 3, 1942, in Washington, D.C. to the late Francis Lloyd Williamson and Flora Davidson Williamson.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, retired owner of Kitchen & Bathroom Inc. and grounds keeper at Northstone Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores “Lori” Meyer Williamson; sons, Michael (Micky) Williamson and wife, Celeste, of Denver Colo., Stephen Williamson and wife, Christine, of Bremerton, Wash., Sean Williamson and wife, Carol, of Huntersville, Matthew Williamson and wife, Dawn, of Maryland and Timothy Haselhorst and wife, Alexa, of Huntersville; daughter, Gina Neigh and husband, Christopher, of Davidsonville, Md.; 14 grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.

Thomas Michael Wachorn

CORNELIUS – Funeral services for Thomas Michael Watchorn, 64, were held Nov. 24 at the chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

He died Nov. 18, 2012, at his home.

Born June 27, 1948, in Long Island, N.Y., he was a son of the late Thomas Diamond Watchorn and Mary Amoroso Watchorn.

Watchorn graduated from the University of Miami and Warden School of Business. He was CEO of Citizens Savings & Loan and southeastern regional president of BB&T Bank prior to his retirement in 1995.

He was founder of Nehemiah Ministries and Nehemiah Foundation, published author of “Ministry of Correction & Reproval” and “A Time to Stand.” For the last 17 years, he was a full-time missionary serving in Russia, Cuba, the Amazon jungle, Ukraine, Siberia and Morocco.

Survivors include his wife, Olesya Antonovna Watchorn; son, Thomas Christopher Watchorn of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; daughter, Christina McCormick of Lake Mary, Fla.; sister, Carol Kopetski and husband, John; grandchildren, Thomas B. Watchorn and Sebastian, Parker and Gaston McCormick; and nephews, Michael and Christopher.

Clyde Irvin Goodson

CORNELIUS – Funeral services for Clyde Irvin “Goose” Goodson 83, were held Nov. 21 at Bethel Presbyterian Church. He died Nov. 18, 2012, at the Huntersville Oaks.

He was born May 2, 1929, in Mecklenburg County to the late Miles Martin and Bessie Beam Goodson.

Goodson was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and was inducted into the National Pony League Umpires Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Goodson, Graham Goodson and Harry Goodson; sisters, Florene Hearms and Ela Mae Sams; brother-in-laws, Sid Burris and Billy Washam; and sister-in-law, Violet Washam.

Survivors include his wife, Avonne Washam Goodson; children, Paul Goodson and wife, Mary, and Belinda Sutton and husband, Marvin; grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicole and Amber; brother, Ralph Goodson and wife, Wanda; sister, Billy Williams; sisters-in-law, Jackie Burris, Brenda Rhodes and Rita Washam; and brothers-in-law, John Washam and Murvyn Washam and wife, Peggy.

Ray Allen Chadwick

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Ray Allen Chadwick, 93, were held at Ozona Church of Christ. Burial followed at Westhaven Cemetery.

Chadwick died Nov. 17, 2012.

He was born on June 21, 1919, in Sutton, Texas, to the late Claude and Winnie Chadwick.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Mildred Chadwick and Ollie May Chadwick; and daughter, Delanna.

Survivors include his son, Dennis and daughter-in-law, Nancy, of Charlotte.

Leonard “Lenny” Charles Cook

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Leonard “Lenny” Charles Cook, 63, were held Nov. 19 in the chapel of James Funeral Home.

Cook died Nov. 15, 2012 at his home.

He was born Aug. 28, 1949 in Irwin, Pa. to the late Charles and Hope Cook. He worked as an environmental engineer before retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Margaret Cook; sons, Dayne Cook of Charlotte and Tyler Cook of Huntersville; brother, Bruce Cook and wife, Peggy; and sister, Becky Welsh and husband, Darrell, all of Bellingham, Wash.
