DAVIDSON – The Town of Davidson is offering a class called Civics 101 to teach residents about the operations of the town’s government.

The free program is open to Davidson residents and residents of surrounding towns who are 18 and older.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss departmental functions and operations with town department heads, tour the fire and police departments, learn about town history from Davidson College’s archivist, Jan Blodgett, and take part in a personalized question-and-answer session with the board of commissioners.

Two class times are offered at 9:30-11:30 a.m. or 6:30-8:30 p.m. at town hall beginning Feb. 7 and continuing for nine consecutive weeks.

Applications are being accepted until Dec. 31 and are available online and at town hall.
