HUNTERSVILLE – Lake Forest Church gathered donations last week to help aid one of their sister churches, Park Slope Presbyterian in Brooklyn, NY.
Weeks ago, Lake Forest’s Lead Pastor Mike Moses announced about an upcoming service where they’d raise money for people affected by the damage from Hurricane Sandy.
1,500 Lake Forest members came to that service and raised $10,000 to help those victims.
“When Sandy happened, folks here were concerned and praying. We saw it on the news and were consumed with it,” Moses said. “Everyone was incredibly generous.”
The funds are being used to repair or rebuild homes, provide food, temporary housing and financial assistance from those who lost work.
