DAVIDSON – Christmas in Davidson is a three-night event from Nov. 29-Dec. 1 for families to kick off the holiday festivities.

The celebration begins with a tree lighting and the arrival of Santa at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Village Green library stage.

Nightly events happening from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Davidson include, Story Time with Mrs. Claus, face-painting with The Pixie Chicks, balloon magic with Brandini The Great and live music with plenty of hot drinks to keep warm.

There will be a live nativity and Bethlehem shops nightly 6:30-9 p.m. outside the Davidson United Methodist Church Chapel.

Bring the kids to Santa’s House from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 29 and 6-9 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at the Library Community Room.

An ice skating rink will be open from 3-9 p.m. Nov. 29-30 and 1-9 p.m. Dec. 1 at the South Main Square.

Horse drawn carriage rides will run nightly 6-9 p.m. starting at Town Hall.

The Davidson Lion’s Club Christmas trees will be at the post office on Main Street nightly from 6-9 p.m.

A holiday village and the Rotary Club Christmas tree village will run nightly from 6-9 p.m. at the Village Green.

Davidson College Presbyterian Church will open their congregational house nightly from 6-9 p.m.

John & Angela Watts will perform folk Christmas music beginning at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Davidson United Methodist Church Chapel.

Meet Davidson College’s own Mr. Wildcat from 6-9 p.m. Nov. 30 at the new college bookstore on Main Street.

There will be a handbell Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Davidson College Presbyterian Church Sanctuary.

Two events, the Doggie Fashion show at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 and the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 both at the Village Green, require registration.
