The Davidson and Cornelius Fire Departments will be partnering for a joint training exercise beginning at 9 a.m. Nov. 3.

These departments will be conducting a training burn on an existing structure on Field St. in Cornelius.

The training is set to begin at 9 a.m. and continue until approximately 4 p.m.
During this time, you may notice columns of heavy smoke in the air.

The area of town most likely to be affected is along and adjacent to South St. in Davidson.

If the ozone levels are Code Orange, Code Red or Code Purple, this training will be cancelled according to EPA regulations, and no smoke will be introduced into the atmosphere.
