School kicks off final renovation phase with food truck rally

The rally takes place 6-9 p.m. Nov. 16 in the high school parking lot, 404 Armour St.
Food trucks, such as Maki Taco and Papi Queso, will sell menu items that include Thai coconut curry chicken tacos, wasabi shrimp, Japanese hibachi, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, soups and truffle kettle chips.
Festivities also include student performances and tours of the planned 30,000-square-foot renovation. The new space will include a dance studio, music room, additional classrooms, administrative office and conference rooms, a student commons area and a 250-seat theater.
Community School of Davidson, a public charter school, opened in 2001 and serves kindergarten through 12th grade students. It will graduate its first class in 2014.
