by Staff Writer
NASCAR’s medical liaison office received notification of Earnhardt’s clearance late Tuesday morning. He will drive the No. 88 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.
Earnhardt announced Oct. 11 that he would miss two races after sustaining two concussions in six weeks.
He enters the TUMS Fast Relief 500 ranked 12th in Chase for the Sprint Cup standings with one pole and one win this season. Regan Smith drove the No. 88 in Earnhardt’s absence, with a best finish of seventh at Kansas Speedway Oct. 21.
Check this Friday’s Mooresville Weekly for more information on Earnhardt’s return and its effect on Hendrick Motorsports and other teams.
