Alice L.S. Stubbs
HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Alice L.S. Stubbs were held Oct. 17 in the chapel of James Funeral Home.
Born on May 12, 1959, in Boyden, Iowa, to Harlan and Frances Steffe, she worked as a fitness and swim instructor and was a longtime resident of Cedarfield.
Survivors include her parents; husband, Allan Stubbs of Huntersville; daughters, Jamie Ekatomatis of Washington, D.C., Jessica Stubbs of Naples, Fla., and Jordan Stubbs of Huntersville; four sisters; and one grandson.

Harry Fisher Porter Jr.
CHARLOTTE – Funeral services for Harry Fisher Porter Jr. were held Oct. 14 at Bethel Presbyterian Church.
Born Feb. 10, 1949, in Charlotte, he was the son of the late Harry F. Porter Sr. and Idell Davis Porter. He was the owner of Harry Porter Real Estate Company in Charlotte.
Survivors include his sister, Ethel Sellers and her husband, Roger, of Mooresville; nephews, Chip Sellers and wife, Melanie, Matt Sellers and wife, Judie; great niece, Kaitlyn; and great nephews, Jacob and Coleman.

Nannie L. Blythe
HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Nannie L. Blythe were held Oct. 13 at Gilead A.R.P. Church. Born in Mecklenburg County to John and Ethel Wilhelm on Dec. 5, 1917, she was employed by Duke Energy before retirement.
Survivors include one son, Joe Bailes Blythe and wife, Saundra; daughter, Mary Blythe Jones and husband, Ralf, both of Huntersville; one brother Cooper Wilhelm; two sisters, Vicki Hager and Margaret Sherrill; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Doris Blythe; and son-in-law, Ned Chavers.
She was preceded in death by husband, Paul Grier Blythe; son, John Mack Blythe; daughter, Barbara Blythe Chavers; a grandson; brothers, Kermit, Hoyt and John; and sisters, Ruth, Dorothy, Polly and Katherine.

Joseph Smith
HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services were held for Joseph Smith on Oct. 12 at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 25, 1929, in New York to Alonzo and Genevieve Smith. After meeting his future wife, Patricia, while serving in the U.S. Navy, the two later lived in New Jersey, Florida and North Carolina.
Survivors include son, Andrew Smith and Kate McGeeney; daughter, Valerie and husband, Cliff Caudle; grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Nicole Smith, Holland Caudle, James Caudle Jr., Jacqueline and Richard DelSol; and siblings, Robert Smith, Margaret Waye and Genevieve Frasse.

Isabel Ratledge
CORNELIUS – Funeral services for Isabel Ratledge were held Oct. 8 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Greensboro.
She was born in Seville, Spain, to Luis Wert and Isabel Ruiz Caceres. She was a manager for the Department of Defense for 20 years. She was very involved in the Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister and spent many hours assisting Cuban refugees.
Isabel is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Joseph Ratledge and Carol, Isabel Neunsinger, John Ratledge and Jennifer, Joseph Neunsinger and Valerie, Maria Kostylo and Scott, Carol Ratledge and Joe and Jackie Hayden and Paul; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Neunsinger, and her parents.

Audrey Mae Gentle
DAVIDSON – Audrey Mae Gentle died Oct. 8 at her home.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1924, in Natrona County, Wyo. to the late Clifton and Minnie Stout. She worked as a director of social services.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Gentle and wife, Melody, of Fergus Falls, Minn. and Clifton Gentle of Davidson; daughters, Canda Warner and husband, Jeff, and Christine Margiotta and husband, Rick; and four grandchildren.
Services will be private. James Funeral Home is served the family.
