The Davidson United Methodist Church annual coat drive began Jan. 1. The church will collect winter coats to benefit Crisis Assistance Ministry and other local agencies to go to those in need through Jan. 31. The church aims to collect at least 500 coats this year. To contribute, drop off new, clean or gently used men’s, women’s or children’s coats in the marked bin outside the church office. Anyone interested in volunteering to help collect coats from bins and deliver them to benefiting agencies can contact Doug Martin at DougMartin1@roadrunner.com or 704-948-0181.
