CORNELIUS – Police are asking the public to help identify two men who entered a Rite-Aid pharmacy, pistol-whipped an employee then stole money from the store’s safe.

The robbery was reported Monday, Jan. 23, at about 9 p.m. when two men entered the store, pointed a gun at the manager and demanded he open the safe, Cornelius police said. After giving the men money, one of the robbers pistol whipped the manager then ran away.

One suspect was described as a black man, wearing a dark hoodie, dark gloves and dark jeans. The second suspect was a light-skinned black man wearing a dark hoodie, light colored or white gloves and dark jeans, police said.

Anyone with information in the robbery should contact Cornelius police at 704-896-7467. Rite-Aid is offering a reward for the arrest and conviction of the two suspects. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
