Dan Forest, a Raleigh-based architect, businessman and entrepreneur made a brief stop in Huntersville Monday, Jan. 17, during a 35-county, eight-day tour to announce he’s running for N.C. Lt. Governor.

Forest cited his platform of lower taxes – corporate and gas taxes; his desire to give parents a choice in schools and create competition to improve the state’s education system and his desire to serve as the point person on fighting illegal immigration in the state.

Dan, his wife, Alice, and their four children, ages 6 to 18, live in Raleigh. He is the son of U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick.
