CONCORD – Cannon School students are sharing their classrooms and homes with a group of 17 students and two teachers from Tianli International School, a Chinese boarding school, as part a two-week cultural exchange that began Tuesday, Jan. 17.
The Chinese students are the ninth group to visit the school since the sister-school partnership began in 2004. During their visit, the Chinese students will live with Cannon School host families and attend classes, including Mandarin language classes.
The students are scheduled to visit the Levine Museum of the New South and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for a tour and meetings with admissions and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association. They will also meet a former Tianli student who decided to enroll at UNCC after participating in the cultural exchange at Cannon School several years ago.
Tianli International School is a private middle and upper boarding school located in Luzhou, a town founded in 135 B.C. in the southern mountainous region of Sichuan, in central China.
