DAVIDSON – Davidson College will hold a number of events commemorating the life of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 16 and 17.
Those events include: King Day for Kids, teaching children about literacy, social justice and community involved; Dr. Martin Luther King lecture, teaching about race and multiculturalism; Romare Bearden on Art and Activism focusing on the roll of art in political activism; a discussion to breakdown and tear apart Asian American stereotypes; a lecture on the contributions African Americans have made to Davidson College; and a discussion on the impact Martin Luther King Jr. made on the environmental justice movement.
On Tuesday, the college will host a performance by the school’s student spoken word club.
