DAVIDSON – Davidson Day School invites area educators and parents to a “comprehensive review” of books by important 21st century education thinkers.

Mike Cerkovnik, Davidson Day School’s Head of Educational Innovation and Research, will offer what he calls “essential reading tips for parents and educators everywhere,” Jan. 21 at the Birkdale Barnes & Noble, 8725 Townley Road, Huntersville, from 11 a.m. to noon. He will discuss the authors’ research-based view on instructional practices, teaching, learning and mindful parenting.

Some of the featured books include: “Intellectual Character: What It Is, Why It Matters and How to Get It,” by Ron Ritchhart, “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success,” by Carol Dweck and “Brain Rules: 12 Principles for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home and School,” by John Medina.
