More than 50 vendors and businesses lined up outside of Discovery Place Kids last weekend for the Fall Family Kickoff, a massive event featuring some of the town’s best offerings.
Enjoying the great weather Saturday, Sept. 3, a crowd showed up and took advantage of the activities, information, and products that included diverse offerings. The Carolina Renaissance Festival booth had representatives in medieval garb, and there was an inflatable bounce house for the kids, pony rides, food, art, music and a fingerprinting display by the Huntersville Police Department.
Fall Into Huntersville, a committee of local business and civic leaders, organized the event. They plan to hold similar events in October and November.
“We have been planning the Fall Family Kickoff for a couple of months,” committee member Nancy Sweet said. “This is the first time it has been held but we are hoping it will be an annual event.”
Fall Into Huntersville is pushing to get the word out about the great things that are planned for this autumn season.
The group started a website to promote local events, concerts and programs at Discovery Place Kids, Latta Plantation or Rural Hill; www.fallintohuntersville.com.
“We want to make sure everyone knows what’s going on,” Sweet said.
