Huntersville company helps ring in Tradesman Day

NEW YORK – On Sept. 1, Huntersville-based Irwin Tools rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
The opening served as Irwin’s salute to America’s tradesmen and a prelude to National Tradesmen Day on Sept. 16.
The event celebrates the role of tradesmen in the country’s history, with cookouts at local job sites and recognition at retail locations and schools.
“Tradesmen aren’t typically the focus of the Stock Exchange. Yet, they are a vital part of our lives every day,” Ross Porter, president of Irwin Tools, said in news release. “That’s why we invited several tradesmen to be a part of the notable tradition that opens the U.S. trading market. We applaud what these skilled men and women contribute, often without the thanks that they deserve.”
