DAVIDSON –Davidson Lands Conservancy will hold its annual Green Day festival Sept. 17 on the Village Green at Main Street and Concord Road.
The festival will feature local entertainment, kid-friendly activities and a variety of exhibits and coincides with multiple Run for Green races.
Runners may register online at www.davidsonlands.org or the morning of the races, starting at 6:30 a.m. at the Village Green. Walk-up registration requires proper ID. Fees for the races are as follows: half-marathon, $40 in advance and $50 on race day; 10K run, $30 in advance and $35 on race day; and 5K run-walk, $20 in advance and $25 on race day.
The half-marathon begins at 7:30 a.m., and all other events begin at 7:40 a.m. The races will be held rain or shine.
Proceeds from the runs benefit the conservancy, a nonprofit land trust that works with willing landowners to save land in the Davidson area. The organization played a key role in the county’s recent decision to buy the former Abersham property.
