CORNELIUS – Developers of the Lake Norman Sporting Arms and Range, at 19420 Jetton Road, suite 104, say they have hired a contractor to make the facility the first solar-powered firearms facility in the U.S.
In a news release, Tricia Sisson, managing director of the Range at Lake Norman, said the company has selected Tecta America Carolinas to provide phase one of the Peninsula Village business’ solar project.
“The Range at Lake Norman is proud to be doing its part to lessen our impact on the environment,” Sisson said in the release. “This will allow us to harness the power of the sun to reduce our dependence on power generated by EnergyUnited.”
The range expects its solar project to begin generating electricity in October.
