Sarah Hardin set a Lake Norman Charter school record with a time of 19 minutes, 36 seconds in the Jungle Run Invitational in Hope Mills on Sept. 3. She finished 12th, and won a medal. Teammate Stephanie Zaino also medaled as the 18th-place finisher (19:55).
In the boys race, senior Michael Westbay finished 14th with a personal-best time of 16:50. The other Knights boy to win a medal was Warren Ghareeb, who was 12th in the developmental division. Freshman Sean Powers (17:18) and sophomore Matt Panza (17:13) set class records, respectively.
