CORNELIUS – Cornelius residents are encouraged to attend the candidate forum and old-fashioned barbecue at Cornelius Town Hall on Oct. 13. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the event will feature a patriotic sing-along, the Pledge of Allegiance and a presentation of colors by American Legion Post 86.
All six candidates for town board have been invited to attend the event.
Moderating the event will be the Rev. Mike Bailey, senior pastor at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Cornelius Veterans Monument which is 91-percent funded. The suggested donation for the lunch is $7.
