Charlotte’s Green Halloween Costume Swap is a program that encourages parents to think “green” during the Halloween season and consider swapping their child’s gently used costumes on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Atherton Mill & Market.
If half the costumes kids wear each year were swapped, the annual waste could be reduced by 6,250 tons, according to a press release by Green Jeans Consignment.
The drop-off schedule is as follows: Thursday, Sept. 22, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 23, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, Sept. 24, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
