Robert J. Ambrovich
HUNTERSVILLE – Robert John Ambrovich, 78, of Huntersville, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011.
Born Nov. 7, 1932, in Masontown, Pa., Mr. Ambrovich was the son of the late Julia Matson of Masontown, Pa., and Andy Simon of Edenborn, Pa.
He moved to Williamsport, Pa., in 1952 and built a business as a heating-air conditioning and electrical contractor. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport, Pa., and volunteered with the Duboistown Fire Department for years. He had been a member of the Beech Ridge Hunting Camp since 1962. He retired in 2004 as owner and president of Bob Ambrovich Electric Co., Amber Rental, Ambrovich Rental and the Williamsport Building Office Complex and moved to Charlotte.
Son Thomas Robert Ambrovich preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Frances Atkins Ambrovich; daughters Ann Marie Trul, Troy, Mich., Valerie Kay Ambrovich, Houston, Texas, Debra Jeanne Usher, Charlotte, and May Jo Ambrovich, Delray Beach, Fla.; son Robert John Ambrovich Jr., Millersburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday Sept. 13, at Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church, Charlotte. A graveside service will be held Oct. 8 at St. Johns Brick Church, Montgomery, Pa. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home is in charge.
