The North Mecklenburg High School Viking Band debuted their new uniforms and halftime show Friday, Sept. 9, at the school’s football game against Myers Park High School. Under the leadership of Band Director Jim Leatherwood, this year’s fall show emphasizes elements of rhythm-and-blues and soul derived from jazz and features artists such as Barry White, Nat “King” Cole and the Doobie Brothers.
