DENVER – Communities in Schools of North Carolina recently awarded a $6,000 matching grant – or $12,000 total – to Lincoln Charter School.

Dean of Students Jonathan Bryant said this week that the school was lucky to receive the money. “Money was taken away with federal budget cuts, but there was a little left over that they had to give out,” Bryant said.

Bryant also said the school will use the money to improve its recycling program. He also hopes to develop composting and even work on creating a community garden at the school.
