HUNTERSVILLE – Marcel Boss, 17, of Huntersville, received his Eagle Scout award Aug. 21 in a Court of Honor ceremony.
Shannon Zielke, a former Scout leader, and Jeremy Fowler, former scoutmaster of Troop 615, presented Boss with the award. The teen also received an American flag from U.S. Sen. Richard Burr and a letter of congratulations from U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick.
Son of Heinz and Erika Boss of Huntersville, Boss has earned 25 merit badges and served as patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader and senior patrol leader for Troop 615. He was elected to the Order of the Arrow in 2008.
For his Eagle project, Boss led a crew of 20 volunteers in building a footbridge at Bradford Park. The 25-foot bridge spans a creek leading to the disc-golf field. Boss has served as a page for Speaker of the House Thom Tillis.
