CORNELIUS – The Cornelius Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture and N.C. Community Sailing & Rowing are offering people with special needs and their families the chance to go sailing on Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Handicapped persons, their guardians and siblings 5 and older will be able to pick an hour time-slot during which they will enjoy a boat ride at Blythe Landing Park and activities like map making, tattoos and bubble fun. The captain-guided sailboats hold two to three people per ride, and life jackets will be provided.

All participants must bring a signed N.C. Community Sailing waiver form to the event. Families can register online at www.cornelius.org/parks. For information, email Trina Roeder at troeder@cornelius.org.
