Huntersville First Baptist Church will host the 30th-annual World Hunger Day Sept. 24 at the 119 N. Old Statesville Road church.

The event, which has raised more than $750,000 over the years, will include a bazaar, concessions, a bake sale and silent and live auctions. Organizers are still collecting items for the bazaar and expect to be able to fill two or three tractor-trailers worth of donated items to be sold at the event.

Donations will be accepted at the church Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m. and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. For large item donations like cars, boats or furniture ,call Neal Howes at 704-875-3489.
