• J.M. Alexander Middle: Aug. 23, 5 to 7:30 p.m.

• Bailey Middle: Aug. 22, 3 to 4:30 p.m. for sixth-graders and 5 to 6:30 p.m. for seventh-graders.

• Barnette Elementary: Aug. 24., 3 to 3:40 p.m. for the fourth and fifth grades, 3:40 to 4:20 p.m. for the first and second grades and 4:20 to 5 p.m. for the third grade. Information about transportation, the parent-teacher association and after-school programs will be available in the gym.

• Blythe Elementary: Aug. 23, 4 to 6 p.m.

• Bradley Middle: Aug. 23, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for seventh and eighth grades and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for the sixth grade.

• Cannon School: New students have orientation Aug. 12 from 8 a.m. to noon.

• Community School of Davidson: Aug. 21.

• Cornelius Elementary: Aug. 23, 3 to 5 p.m.

• Davidson Day School: The school holds orientation Wednesday, Aug. 10, for toddlers through kindergartners from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and first- through sixth-graders from 5 to 6:30 p.m. … Orientation for seventh through 12th grades takes place Aug. 11 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. …The school distributes laptops to 10th-, 11th- and 12th-graders Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon.

• Davidson Elementary: Aug. 23, 4 to 5:30 p.m. for kindergarten through second grade and 4:30 to 6 p.m. for third through fifth grades.

• Grace Covenant Academy: Aug. 18 at 6:30 p.m. for elementary-school students and Aug. 19 at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers.

• Lake Norman Charter: Aug. 16, 9 to 11 a.m. for the fifth, sixth, ninth and 10th grades and noon to 2 p.m. for the seventh, eighth, 11th and 12th grades. Freshman orientation takes place from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

• Lake Norman Christian: Aug. 19, 6 to 8 p.m. Parents and students can turn in student information forms, sign up for clubs, purchase spirit wear and consigned uniforms, bring in school supplies, sign up for volunteer activities and register for before- and after-school care.

• Long Creek Elementary: Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. for first through fifth grades and Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. for kindergarten.

• McKinney Academy: Aug. 15, 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. New families should arrive 15 minutes early.

• North Mecklenburg High: Aug. 23, 5 to 8 p.m.
