Torrence Creek Elementary School made the most of its summer by opening its library to students. The school’s media specialist, Elizabeth Smiley, shared the idea with the Torrence Creek’s School Leadership Team. Thanks to the work of several volunteers, the school’s library has been open every other Tuesday for three hours. Students dropped by with their families to roam the library and check out up to 10 books at a time.
