HUNTERSVILLE – Mosaic Church, which holds services at North Mecklenburg High School, will host a Teacher Supply Drive starting Sunday, Aug. 7, through Aug. 15 and plans to launch a weekend-food program for deserving students.
The church asks people to donate school supplies that North Meck High teachers can use in their classrooms. The church will have donation bins at each of its worship services, or anyone can drop supplies by the church office, 11925 Sam Roper Drive, suite D, Charlotte, during the week. Teachers need: red, blue and black pens, pencils, White Out, markers, facial tissues, Expo White Board markers, Post It Notes, paper towels, hand sanitizer and notebooks.
The church also plans to start a meal-pack ministry for North Meck High students in September. Many students qualify for free or discounted lunches, and some go without food on the weekends. Through its MealPacks program, the church plans to send backpacks filled with food home with designated students every Friday. They will return the backpacks to the school on Monday, and the church will fill them weekly.
Anyone interested in supporting MealPacks can donate backpacks or money to purchase food. Make checks payable to Mosaic Church and designated for MealPacks and mail to Mosaic Church, attn: MealPacks, 11925 Sam Roper Drive, suite D, Charlotte, NC 28269.
