The luncheon lasts from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kabuto at Lake Norman, 16516 Northcross Drive, and is sponsored by Park Avenue Properties. Hattabaugh, the district’s chief operating officer since 2008, is leading the system while the board of education searches for a permanent replacement for former Superintendent Peter Gorman.
Hattabaugh came to the district in July 2007, when he served as area superintendent for schools in north Mecklenburg County. Prior to that, he was a deputy superintendent of the Little Rock School District in Arkansas.
In a news releaseHillary Broadway, vice chairwoman of business education and advocacy for the chamber and a realtor for Allen Tate Realtors, said education and school quality remain top priorities when families are considering moving to Lake Norman area.
“Superintendent Hattabaugh will share with local business leaders the state of our school system, plans for area schools and trends in the education field,” Broadway said.
The public is invited to attend the luncheon. RSVP by calling the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce at 704-892-1922. The luncheon costs $16 for Lake Norman Chamber members and $20 for non-members.
