BARIUM SPRINGS – Local businesses in Huntersville, Cornelius and Mooresville are supporting a campaign to collect school supplies for Barium Springs Home for Children. The nonprofit children’s home reports “a large need for school supplies and non-perishable breakfast foods.”

Some items may not seem like typical school items, but for children at Barium Springs, extra items are needed for therapy, as well as some food items. The home can use book bags, pens, pencils, paper, erasers and other school items, as well as breakfast bars, snack crackers, juice boxes, stress balls, play dough, art supplies, hand soap, hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, tissues, Sudoku/activity books, journals, small toy incentive items and playing cards.

Drop-off locations include Visit Lake Norman in Cornelius, Ballas Chiropractic and Nook Coffee Shop in Huntersville and Massage Envy and Mooresville South Iredell Chamber of Commerce in Mooresville.
