CHARLOTTE – Thanks to the City of Charlotte’s Neighborhood and Business Services Department, Our Foundation for Children and the NorthEast Coalition of Neighborhoods will distribute free school supplies and backpacks Aug. 20 at Theresa Clark-Elder Park.

The sponsoring groups also will offer health-fair services for families that attend the event at 315 Rockwell Church Road, off Mallard Creek/Sugar Creek Road.

The free event lasts from noon to 3 p.m., and children must be present to receive back pack/school supplies.
