DAVIDSON – Davidson Lands Conservancy and Woodland Discovery are sponsoring a free nature outing Saturday, July 9, from 10 to 11 a.m. to see kudzu-eating goats at Davidson College.

The college has a kudzu problem, and officials wanted a chemical-free solution. So they hired a herd of goats that has already cleared a large swatch of the fast-growing weed. Irvin Brawley, the college’s retired director of grounds, will lead the tour.

The outing is open to families with children at least 6 years old. Please, no strollers or dogs, and wear sturdy shoes. Organizers will send directions and other details to those who pre-register by emailing dlc.wow@gmail.com.
