CHARLOTTE – Torrence Creek Elementary announced that Brian F. Shultz will take over as principal at the beginning of the new school year.

Shultz comes to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools from Cabarrus County, where he served as director of education. He is pursuing a doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in curriculum and instruction, urban education. He holds a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in school administration and bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Purdue University.

Shultz began his career in Indiana before moving to Cabarrus County in 2006. He worked as a teacher and elementary school principal before becoming director of elementary education.
