More than 140 kids from the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte got a chance to spend a day on Lake Norman on Saturday, July 16, during the seventh annual Big Day on the Lake at McGuire Nuclear Station EnergyExplorium. Organizers raised more than $42,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Along with the kids, their mentors, better known as ‘Bigs,’ spent the day speeding around the lake on some of the 80 donated boats, swimming, playing and gorging on food made by the more than 75 volunteers. This year, organizers cooked more than 600 hotdogs and ordered more than 45 pizzas to feed the hordes of kids who were famished after a full day of play.
