HUNTERSVILLE – Central Piedmont Community College recently named public relations veteran Jeff Lowrance as its new public information officer and assistant to the president.
Effective July 11, Lowrance began overseeing the college’s public and media relations, marketing and community relations initiatives.
“Jeff brings more than 22 years of communications and public relations experience in both higher education and industry environments to his new role,” Dr. Tony Zeiss, the college’s president, said in a news release. “The college’s leadership team looks forward to benefiting from his vision and breadth of experience as CPCC strives to become the national leader in workforce development.”
Lowrance comes to Central Piedmont from Appalachian State University, where he served as director of communications. Prior to Appalachian State, he worked as director of college relations at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, corporate communications manager at Delhaize America/Food Lion, and assistant director of public relations at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Lowrance earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He and his wife, Janice, have two daughters and live in Mooresville.
