CHARLOTTE – Classroom Central, Communities in Schools and WSOC-TV and its Family Focus partners have teamed up again to donate school supplies to Mecklenburg County’s economically disadvantaged students.
For more than 15 years, the School Tools Campaign has been the region’s largest coordinated school supply drive, operating in Mecklenburg County, as well as 20 surrounding counties. Last year, in Mecklenburg County alone, more than 472,000 school supplies were collected during the campaign, benefiting approximately 40,000 students.
The most needed supplies include:
• Pencils and pens
• Glue sticks
• Loose leaf notebook paper (ruled)
• Colored pencils and markers
• Highlighters
• Pocket folders
• Rulers
• Erasers
Starting Aug. 1, donations can be dropped off at area Ashley Furniture Home Store locations, Hendrick Honda in Charlotte, BB&T branch locations or Classroom Central, 2116 Wilkinson Blvd. Money can also be donated online at www. wsoctv.com/family.
