CORNELIUS- The Cornelius Historic Preservation Commission will once again offer a guided walking tour of the historic area “North of Catawba” on June 18, a Saturday, at 6:30 p.m.

The tour on April 9 attracted so many people that the commission plans to sponsor tours periodically throughout the year. The June 18 tour starts at the town hall parking lot, 21445 Catawba Ave., and will cover the same route of about 1.25 miles. The tour will last about 1 1/2 hours.

Commission members are planning future tours to highlight Mt. Zion Church, homes on Catawba Avenue, Historic Smithville and the Smithville Rosenwald School and the Oak Street Mill and its surrounding mill homes.
