Help agency UMAR held a blessing for its independent living home along Zion Street in Cornelius Sunday, June 19, with more than 40 in attendance.

The home, which will house three mentally disabled men, was finished earlier this year and will provide a place for its residents to live on their own without much intervention from helpers.
