• Mallorie K. Collyer, of Huntersville, was named to the President’s and Dean’s lists at the University of Southern Mississippi for the 2011 spring semester. The President’s List includes full-time students who earned a 4.0 grade point average and the Dean’s List includes those with at least a 3.5 grade point average.
• Lake Norman Charter High School rising senior Megan Ferry, of Denver, was selected to attend N.C. Governor’s School East at Meredith College in Raleigh. Megan, the first Lake Norman Charter school’s first student to attend Governor’s School, was selected from more than 1,700 public and private school nominees to attend the six-week summer program for academically or intellectually gifted students. While attending the session, from June 12 to July 23, she will study natural science.
• Thomas Hall Irvin, of Davidson, was named to the Dean’s List at Wofford College for the 2011 spring semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled for at least 12 semester hours of graded courses and attain a semester grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
• Shayna Elizabeth Gordon, of Huntersville, has been named to the President’s List at Elon University. To be named to the President’s List the student must not receive a grade below an A- and must be enrolled in at least 12 course hours. Shayna Gordon is the daughter of Zac and Lisa Gordon of Huntersville.
