HUNTERSVILLE – Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian will stage the 19th annual Charlotte Charity Horse Show from June 30  through July 2 at Latta Plantation Park Equestrian Center, 6201 Sample Road.

Admission to the show is free, and the church makes proceeds from concession sales, including barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and desserts. This year’s proceeds will go to the church building fund. The church has given proceeds of past shows to Habitat for Humanity, Crisis Assistance Ministry, mission projects and other area charities.

The church expects more than 200 horses and riders from five Southeastern states to compete. The show features a nightly competition from 6 to 9 p.m. and a three-hour session on Saturday morning, starting at 9.

The show will feature more than 100 classes for American Saddlebred horses, Standardbreds and Hackney ponies, with prize money offered during the night performances.  In addition, the show includes an Equitation and Academy Rider Division, along with several fun classes such as Stick Horse, Ride-A-Buck, Costume and Lead Line.
