CORNELIUS – With temperatures already surpassing 95 degrees, the North Meck Senior Center, 18731 W. Catawba Ave., is offering free 20-inch box fans to residents older than 59 and anyone on disability.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Senior Centers are offering the free fans at five other senior-program sites through a grant from Duke Energy Foundation and private donations.

Seniors must provide a driver’s license or state ID providing proof of age and current Mecklenburg address. Those on disability need to provide proof of disability income and Mecklenburg address.
